By Julie | 19 January 2010

Hey – it’s Twilight Tuesday time! Our Design Team member Erica has chosen today’s challenge theme, and it’s all about the color red.  Here’s what Erica has to say:

Create a project either using the color red or expressing what red means to you. Comment portion: Tell your best “red” story.  Is it that great red dress that caught everyone’s attention?  Have you “seen red” before?  Anyone like Red Velvet Cake?  Anything goes!

Click here for further details about the challenge and how to play along.  And as always, our Design Team has fantastic projects to display for this week’s challenge – please go and check them out!

Here’s my project for today – lots of red here!  And lots of photos too, so you can get a closer look at some of the details.  I used this week’s Mojo Monday sketch for this card as well.  (Sketch + deadline = a big help!)

Wonderful Birthday

By Julie | 17 August 2009

Hello!

Here’s a birthday card for my lovely friend Maureen, aka Mau.  I was in the mood for a different size card, and this ended up being 4”x8” – just sort of ended up that way.

I don’t have a lot of commentary for this one – thanks for visiting!

Special Bonus Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge: Collaboration with Dragonflycurls

By Julie | 29 July 2009

TT 468x60bannerTwilight Tuesday has a special extra challenge  happening today!  We’re working with Audra of Dragonflycurls (visit her Etsy store here).  Audra makes Twilight-inspired stamps and has generously provided some to the Twilight Tuesday Design Team for today’s challenge.

Eve has come up with the theme for today, and you will also find all of the details for the challenge here.

What team do you play for? Team Edward or Team Jacob? Are you still loyal to your original team? Or have you switched sides? Or do you play for both teams now? Let’s show some love for the boys ladies! Fangs or fur, vamp bites or dog breath? Have the trailers for New Moon maybe changed your opinion of who you used to like? Come on now…be honest!

Sincere thanks to goes out to Audra from all of us at Twilight Tuesday. We’re really happy to collaborate with dragonflycurls for this fun challenge!

Our Design Team has played along with challenge today – visit their blogs to see their creations!

And my card – surprise!  It’s a Jacob-themed card.  That is a little unusual for me, but a little change can be good for us, right?  This card features a hand-carved wolf stamp by Audra of Dragonflycurls.  The sentiment is from the Fictionally Inspired set from Artful INKables.

Guy Cards

By Julie | 2 July 2009

Really original post title, right?  Since I did a post called “Kid Cards” the other day, I thought I’d keep my titles consistent while I showed you a couple of masculine-styled cards I’ve made lately.  That, and the fact that I could not think of a more clever title…

These two cards both have very simple layouts, which I think suits masculine cards – you don’t really want to get too fussy with these.  I had designer paper for both cards that I loved, so much so that the paper became the center of both layouts.

Basic Grey is the focal point of the birthday card below.  They have a line of papers called Boxer that is really cool for guy cards.  It’s not actually visible in this card, but the base of this card is Papertrey Ink’s new Rustic Cream cardstock.  This cardstock has fibers and flecks in the paper and really suits a masculine card.

For the next card, for a college graduate, I got to use some of my fave paper, from the K & Company Blue Awning collection.  Love this collection – it’s gorgeous like K & Company always is.
