Twilight Tuesday Farewell Blog Hop!

By Julie | 16 February 2010

Wow.

It’s hard to believe that the day has come – but here it is – Twilight Tuesday’s final challenge!  So that means that it’s time to celebrate Twilight Tuesday’s run from 2008 ‘til present, we’re doing a BLOG HOP!

In the blog hop, there is a TON of stuff to see — tons of projects by our lovely and talented Design Team, and a boatload of blog candy prizes!  As a matter of fact, you are in the right place for a blog candy prize right now – I am offering a prize and the details on that are below!  Whoohoo!

And here is the sequence for the blog hop (featuring the members of the Design Team in reverse alphabetical order) – you should have arrived here from Margie’s blog.

Tonya, Twilight Tuesday’s Founder!

Rebecca
Margie
Julie – you’re here!

Jodi

Jen

Erica
Donna
Dani

Beth
Alison

And the Blog Hop ends at Twilight Tuesday.com!

And that blog candy!

Several members of the Design Team are offering blog candy prizes today and I am one of them!  My prize is the Twilight movie DVD!  For those who were taking note of the many versions of the DVD that were released, this one is the “Three-Disc Deluxe Version” from Target.  Click here for more info. on this particular version.  To enter into the random drawing to win this DVD, simple leave me a comment here on this blog!  Easy!  Comments may be left until midnight on Friday, February 19th.   Please note that winners are limited to entrants from the U.S.

And it’s finally time for my project for today!  Today’s theme, by Rebecca, is the love of books, and she asks us to use printed text in our project.

I went through soooo many drafts and different versions of this project before I settled on this one, which is very, very simple.  I was trying pages from the books, long quotes – you name it.  And I kept thinking back to Tonya’s use of the final line in Breaking Dawn (the final line in the entire series) in her post announcing the closing of the site.  I thought that was an incredibly moving way to announce the end of Twilight Tuesday, and here it is:-

And then we continued blissfully into this small but perfect piece of our forever.

TTIC-FINAL-Forever_web

So…I had to work that final word, forever, of the series into my project.   This card is definitely very simple for me, but I really just wanted to keep my farewell to Twilight Tuesday very simple.   I have an enormous amount of emotion going on at the moment – the main feeling being one of gratitude.  This has been an incredible ride.  I owe so much to Twilight Tuesday — to the people behind Twilight Tuesday in particular.  It’s all for love. L.O.V.E.

Now, go, keep on hopping!  The next stop is Jodi’s blog!

A Box Filled With My Faves

By Julie | 23 May 2009

RHRset_web

Making gift sets has been my thing lately – I really hope you’re not sick of seeing them yet, because that is what I have to show today!

This one uses some of my all-time favorite stuff – Stampin’ Up!’s Riding Hood Red cardstock and ink, Anna Griffin designer paper that I adore, Inkadinkado stamps, Papertrey Ink’s vintage cream cardstock, Nestabilities, Cuttlebug embossing, a huge bow – I got ‘em all in here!   Seriously, I could work for a long time with that list of supplies and not get bored – love them.

RHR-set_card_webThis set is composed of identical cards with a variety of sentiments – thank you, best wishes, happy birthday, with sympathy.   I love the “best wishes,” since it’s something that you don’t see all the time.

I know that my blog has been quiet, but I will definitely be back soon to post some other projects; hopefully I will have something other than box sets to show you!  I’ll also be back on Tuesday with the next Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge

And…coming up soon – an announcement about Blog Candy!  Whoohoo!  Stay tuned!

Have a lovely Memorial Day Weekend!

Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge #16 — The Music of Twilight

By Julie | 27 January 2009

"You inspired this one…"

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  The lovely and talented Dani came up with this week’s theme for our Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge — the music of Twilight.  Dani has posted all of the details for the challenge at Twilight Tuesday.com, so hop over there to get all of the info.

Also, don’t forget that the drawing for this month’s Twilight Edward piano smallTuesday blog candy is coming up, so please play along and get your chance to win!  And that is not the only way to win, visit here or here for all of the details on the blog candy.

So my project for this week — I just continue to go digital for my Twilight stuff!  It just seems to suit what I want to do, so it’s working for me, I guess.  And once again…my project is centered around Edward.  I actually had so many ideas for this week’s theme that I needed to stop myself and just work on this one (which tells you a little bit about how slowly I work — I could only get the one completed!).  So my theme for this week is Bella’s Lullaby.

TTIC16_012609_web

The music slowed, transforming into something softer, and to my surprise, I detected the melody of his lullaby weaving through the profusion of notes.

"You inspired this one," he said softly.  The music grew unbearably sweet.

I could not speak.

(Twilight (paperback), page 326)

Okay, so who is not swooning just thinking about that scene?  I actually said, when I first heard the movie soundtrack, that I wasn’t too fond of Bella’s Lullaby.  I guess I just heard something different in my head.  And then…I saw a clip from the movie.  To actually see Rob at the piano, playing along with this?  That’s a whole different story.  So, yeah..now I love it.  I love the movie soundtrack; I love that Muse is on there, knowing what a huge inspiration they are to Stephenie Meyer; I absolutely LOVE Spotlight.  Also, the movie score is gorgeous.  Twilight fans, if you have not heard the score, go get it!   It’s beautiful — the score for the meadow scene could bring a tear to your eye.  Seriously — it’s that beautiful.

But…my favorite thing about Twilight music — we got to hear Rob’s songs. His songs are in such key scenes in the movie; Let Me Sign particularly chokes me up.  (Watch this video soon — it seems that all of the "Let Me Sign" videos get taken down from YouTube really quickly!  And…it’s been pulled.  Sorry about that!)

A little bit more about my project — I used some elements from Kathy’s site, The Scrap Loft.  Check out her page — she is offering a beautiful kit of Cullen-inspired digital elements for free!  Thank you, Kathy — you really helped me out a lot with my project this week!

Show some love to the design team by visiting their blogs to check out their creations for this week, and play along with us!  Also, come and chat with us on the forums at Twilight Tuesday.com.

By Julie | 16 January 2009

I am SO excited to be givRobertPattinson8ing away January’s blog candy for the Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenges! This information is also posted on Twilight Tuesday.com, our home base for all things relating to the Twilight Tuesday Challenges.  Drop by and check it out!

So, even Rob is giddy with excitement — doesn’t he look happy about it?  He told me that he just loves blog candy.

I chose stuff that is somewhat Twilighty, and also thought about Valentine’s Day, which is right around the corner.  I hope you like it!  So, let’s get to the details!

Here is the stuff up for grabs:

Designer Paper:

There are five styles (two pieces of each in the package) in 5×7" size.

Jan blogcandy_paper_small

For those who like to know this stuff (as I do), here are the details on the paper (from left to right): Basic Grey Bittersweet Raspberry; Doodlebug Designs black velour and white velour; S.E.I. velour/suede paper; Making Memories Red Glitter Love Notes.

Embellishments:

1/2 yard each of red and black velour ribbon by Maya Road; Red and white mulberry paper flowers by Prima; and assorted bling (red and black brads, clear rhinestones, and a bunch of faux Dew Drops).  [See this post on my blog for an explanation of the faux Dew Drop business.}  And the little bling box will be included as well!

How to Enter the Drawing:

There are three different ways to enter to win during the month of January.  Just for reference — there will be a total of four TTIC challenges this month: TTIC13, TTIC14, TTIC15, and TTIC16.

1) First, leave a comment in the weekly post on Twilight Tuesday that describes each challenge.  So far this month, we’ve done TTIC13 on supporting characters and TTIC14 on baseball.  Follow those links to go to the individual blog entries for each challenge.

2) Create a project for any of the January challenges!  If you upload to the gallery at Splitcoast Stampers, Two Peas in a Bucket, your own blog, or any other site, just leave us a link in the comment section for the specific challenge that you completed.  Please note that the craft portion of the challenges is not limited to stampers and papercrafters — you’re welcome to join us in the medium of your choice!

3) Come check out the new Twilight Tuesday forum and leave us a comment there.  We would love to chat away with you!

Following the end of January, the lucky winner will be chosen by random drawing (with the assistance of Random.org) and the winner will be announced here and will be notified by e-mail, IM, or whatever contact information we have for you!

Thank you to both Tonya and Jen who both helped me with this post.  Tonya, I didn’t even tell you, but I cribbed your language for this, so thanks for that!
